We understand that starting something new can feel a little overwhelming, but don’t worry – we’ve got you covered with friendly support, loan decks, and a community of players who are just as excited to share the game as they are to play it.
Here’s how to get started in just 5 simple steps:
Step 1: Pick Your Game
From Pokémon to Magic: The Gathering, Star Wars Unlimited to Lorcana – we stock a galaxy of TCGs to choose from. Not sure which to try? Ask us! We’ll help you find one that fits your interests and age.
Step 2: Learn the Basics
Pop into the shop or one of our beginner-friendly events and we’ll walk you through the rules. No need to study in advance – we’ll teach you everything you need to know to get going.
Step 3: Try a Game Night
Join one of our regular sessions to meet other players, practise your skills, and have some fun! Our events are welcoming, low-pressure, and perfect for building your confidence.
Step 4: Use a Loan Deck
Not ready to invest in your own deck yet? That’s completely fine – we have loan decks available so you can try out the game without committing to anything. It’s a great way to experiment and learn.
Step 5: Build Your Own Deck
Now you’ve nailed the basics and found your style, you can build – or build – a deck of your choice! Our team is on hand to help you choose cards and start shaping a strategy that suits you.
Still Not Sure? Try a Prerelease!
If you’re feeling unsure, a Prerelease event is the perfect way to jump in.
These special events give everyone their first look at a brand-new set of cards – so no one has an advantage in experience, skill, or deck-building.
It’s all about having fun, discovering new cards together, and enjoying the surprise of what you’ll open in your pack. Everyone is on a level playing field, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
