Thinking about coming along to a Pokémon Prerelease but not sure what to expect? Here are five reasons why our prerelease sessions are a brilliant way to enjoy the newest Pokémon cards in a relaxed, friendly setting.

1. Everyone starts on the same footing

One of the best things about a prerelease is that nobody turns up with a fully prepared competitive deck. Everyone starts fresh, using one of four surprise Build & Battle decks. That means it is all about having fun, discovering new cards, and seeing what you can build on the day.

2. You get plenty of cards to play with

At the event, you will start with your base deck and receive four booster packs to upgrade and “pimp” your deck. You can tweak it, test new cards, and try out different ideas during the session.

And the fun does not stop there — you will also get another three booster packs to take home with you, as well as keeping your base deck.

3. Small, relaxed sessions

Each session is limited to a maximum of 14 players, so it never feels too crowded or overwhelming. It gives everyone enough space to enjoy the event, ask questions, and have a good time.

4. A friendly local Pokémon community

The Cults Pokémon players are a friendly bunch who love to have a laugh. Whether you are new to Pokémon, returning after a break, or already enjoy playing regularly, you will be made to feel welcome.

5. It is about fun, not serious competitive play

This is not a high-pressure tournament environment. Everyone is there for a good time, to enjoy the new cards, and to play some relaxed games. You do not need to be a competitive player to join in.
